3439_Turkey Creek PH2 Interceptor

Continuing to work on laying the new sewer pipe. Working toward Manhole E8. 3 sections in the ground. Busting rock to get to depth. Digging out for section 4. Busting rock for section 5. Installing section 5. Digging out for Manhole E8. Checking grade and laying rock for base. Lowering in Manhole E8.

6:14am- crew is back to digging this morning to lay more pipe again today.  8:15am- no pipe set yet. Water coming into ditch creating issues for laser. Some rock was broke out also.  9:10am- grading gravel to lay first joint of the day. Wrapping and strapping continues on MH E7.  10:06am- breaking rock for second joint.  11:03am- 2nd joint is now placed.  1:16pm- 3rd joint now set n place. A lot of water continues to enter the ditch.  2:10pm- still digging on 4th joint for today and MH E4 gets a 2’ barrel section added and will be wrapped and strapped.  3:13pm- 4th joint now placed with plug going into the end of pipe for the weekend. Crew calling it a day due to the overtime worked on creek crossing.  Backfill occurring to keep pipe from floating. 

6:20am- crew to set MH E7 today and finish out concrete encasement.  7:24am- MH E7 base is now set with a 12” piece of pipe tying into line.  Line is lamped by laser back to MH E6.  9:38am- MH E7 mow stacked and alignment to MH E8 is completed. Digging underway now.  10:36am- rest of cage is installed around pipe leading upto MH E7. About 2’ or so of rock is all that will need to be broke out on next run to MH E8.  12:00pm- 1st joint placed upstream of MH E7 as rock breaking continues.  1:08pm- rock broke now for second joint to be dug out and laid.  2:13pm- last of the encasement going in with concrete.  2:56pm- creek channel getting finalized… 3:39pm- 2nd joint is now laid in place.  Water is now diverted back to creek channel.  4:16pm- crew calling it a day since late night yesterday. 

6:10am- rock breaking occurring first thing this morning.  7:35am- still breaking! 8:40am- moving pump and hoses to end of ditch now.  9:55am- 2 joints placed with bottom half of cage. MH E7 will be dug out now with some rock breaking to go.  11:08am- still breaking rock out for MH E7.  1:15pm- …and they are still breaking rock for MH E7.  2:15pm- 3rd joint now placed with cages installed. Rock breaking to continue with concrete arriving shortly to continue with encasement.  3:02pm- concrete begins.  3:40pm- chinking under pipe as they progress.  4:21pm- a grade shot is taken to see how close they are. It appears MH E7 may have to be set about 1.5” high… 4:43pm- more concrete coming and crew wants to set MH E7 yet tonight. 5:42pm- manhole process has stopped and more concrete continues to be placed. 

6:45am- crew started at 6:00am this morning to try and get on across the creek today with the encasement.  8:39am- second joint now placed with bottom half of cage.  9:57am- top cage on now with 3 joints placed. Cross rebar now getting drilled and epoxied in.  10:20am- concrete going in now along with rock breaking beginning again.  11:51am- 3 loads of concrete now placed.  1:36pm- concrete starting to get to flowline of creek. 6 loads now placed.  2:42pm- another section of pipe and cage being prepared and a total of 81 yds of concrete has been placed today on encasement. 4:25pm- 4th joint placed with bottom cage. Trench seal back slope area formed and crew calling it a day since starting at 6:00am this morning. Crew will be starting early rest of the week to help with beating the heat!
